2012 MARATHON INFORMATION

MARATHON REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

  • Discounts available to USATF NEW ENGLAND marathoners and clubs as well as for Falmouth Track Club members entering only the full marathon!
    To view discounts and other information and to register online with a special USATF-NE/FTC form or to download a special USATF-NE/FTC paper entry form, go to USATF-NE/FTC Discounts. Be sure to have your USATF-NE membership number or FTC access code ready because you will be asked for it to enter the discount page. Forgotten your USATF number? Click Here. FTC members should email info@capecodmarathon.com to obtain their personal access code.
  • CLAM CHOWDAH CHALLENGE: Runners interested in the Clam Chowdah Challenge (running both the Half and Full Marathons), should go to the Clam Chowdah Challenge page for more information. Limited to only 250 participants. If you have already signed up for either the half or full marathons and now have decided that you are willing to inflict even more pain on yourself by entering the "Clam Chowdah Challenge" (assuming it has not filled), e-mail the Race Administrator at info@capecodmarathon.com for instructions.

    Entry Fee (including administrative fee): $53.50 through March 31, $64.00 between April 1 & June 15, $74.50 between June 16 & August 30,$85.00 from September 1 on.

THE FIELD WILL BE LIMITED TO THE FIRST 1,200 MARATHONERS WHO ENTER!!! Runners entering the Cape Cod Marathon should be well enough trained to complete the course in six hours. After 2:30 pm, the course will be closed, and runners who finish after that time may not be scored.

  • Race Packet & Number Pick-up: Saturday, Oct 27 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. & Sunday, Oct 28 6:15-7:30 a.m. at the Lawrence School, 113 Lakeview Ave., Falmouth 02540
  • Parking is available within walking distance of the Lawrence School and Start/Finish. For a map of the race day parking areas, click on this link: Race Day Parking.
  • All entrants receive a long-sleeved t-shirt
  • All finishers receive a medallion and certificate
  • Marathon entrants must be 14 years of age or older on race day
  • Confirmation of entry will be emailed when entry is processed. A letter of confirmation will be mailed if there is no email address. Entrants list will be posted on website and updated regularly.
  • Bib number assignment and more information will be emailed out sometime in October.
  • The "ChronoTrack B-Tag" system will be used for timing and scoring.

Awards will be presented to the top finishers in the following categories for men and women:

  • Overall Winners
  • Open: 14-39
  • Senior Master: 50-59
  • Master: 40-49
  • Veteran: 60 - 69
  • Grand Veteran: 70 and over

USATF-NE Membership & Prize Money Eligibility

  • Only runners with current USATF membership in place at the start of the race will be eligible to receive prize money. Foreign athletes, competing for prize money, must be currrent members of their national IAAF-affiliated federations at race start to be eligible for prize money. To be eligible to score as an individual or as a member of a team in the USATF-NE Championship and to be scored as a Grand Prix Ironrunner, a runner must be a current USATF member in the New England Association as of the start of the race. Proof of current membership in either USATF or a national federation must be submitted before the race. For members of USATF, including their membership number on their entry form will suffice.

  • All other entrants are encouraged to register with the USATF-NE or their local USATF organization. To register, write or call the New England Association, USATF, P.O. Box 1905, Brookline, MA 02146, 617-566-7600. You may also register on line at www.usatfne.org. A USATF-NE representative will also be present at race headquarters on Saturday to enable runners to register.

  • We will not pay prize money to any athlete who has been tested positive for performance enhancing drugs.

USATF-NE MARATHON CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION

This race has been designated as the 2012 Marathon Championship of the New England Association of USA Track & Field. This championship is for Open Men, Open Women, Men's Masters, Women's Masters, Men's Senior Masters, Women's Senior Masters, Men's Veteran, and Women's Veteran for both individuals and teams. The USATF will present individual and team awards in those divisions. In addition, $3,300.00 team prize money will be distributed to USATF-NE club teams as follows:

  • Open Men - 1st - $300, 2nd - $250, 3rd - $200, 4th - $150, 5th - $100;
  • Open Women - 1st - $300, 2nd - $250, 3rd - $200, 4th - $150, 5th - $100;
  • Master Men - 1st - $200, 2nd - $150, 3rd - $100;
  • Master Women - 1st - $200, 2nd - $150, 3rd - $100;
  • Senior Men and Women - 1st - $150; 2nd - $100
  • Veteran Men and Women - 1st - $150.

USATF-NE Marathon Championship Team Registration

To be scored, a team must consist of at least three members. All club members are eligible to be scored provided that they include their club affiliation and USATF-NE number on their entry form.
