OPEN RELAY
- The Marathon and Marathon Relay will be run simultaneously on the same course.
- The "ChronoTrack D-Tag" system will be used for timing and scoring.
- Five legs (3.05, 6.15, 5.7, 6.0, 5.3 miles)
- Team Membership (Open Race): Minimum - Two, Maximum - Five. If you make changes to your team make-up, please notify the race administrator in writing or send an email with changes to ccm.director@verizon.net. Runners may compete in an age division younger than their age group but not visa versa. Example: a Master may be on an Open team, but an Open Division runner may not be on a Master team. A Mixed Team has at least one member of the opposite sex.
- Basic Rules: A team member must run at least one full leg, and any one runner may run up to four legs in any order chosen. Relay runners will be identified by different colored numbers worn on the front and back and will carry batons. Baton passing will take place only at one of the designated exchange points. Teams making exchanges elsewhere may be subject to disqualification. Only one team member may cross the finish line!
- Traffic Control: To reduce traffic on the course, each team will be allowed one support vehicle, for which a pass will be issued, to access the exchange areas. It is vital for the safety of the runners that spectators' cars stay off the course. Maps will be available at race headquarters to show the best viewing points and how to get to them without going on the race course. The course is not closed to traffic, so everyone's co-operation is critical.
- The Cape.Com Cup will be awarded to the top three teams overall in Men's, Women's and Mixed categories and medallions to the top two teams in the masters (40-49),seniors (50-59), and veterans (60+) in each category. Special awards will also be made.
- Results will be mailed to all teams after the event.
CORPORATE CHALLENGE
The Enterprise Cup will be awarded to the top teams entering in this category in the
following divisions: Small Business (50 or fewer employees), Men's, Women's or Mixed; Large
Business, Men's, Women's, or Mixed. All members must be employees of one company, non-profit
organization, municipal or government entity, or school when they enter. These teams will also
be competing in the open relay.
